The Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Shenzhen Third People’s Hospital is a standing committee member unit of the Rheumatology Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and a vice chairman unit of the Rheumatology Branch of Shenzhen Medical Association. With osteoarthritis, infection and rheumatic diseases as its characteristics, the department has rich clinical experience and unique insights in the diagnosis and treatment of common, rare and difficult rheumatic diseases such as gout, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, ankylosing spondylitis, Sjögren’s syndrome, dermatomyositis, scleroderma and vasculitis. The department has independent outpatient clinics and wards with 35 open beds. There are 18 medical and nursing staff, including 7 doctors, all with master’s degree or above.

　　The department has a Biological Agent Treatment Center, Joint Interventional Treatment Center and Joint Function Rehabilitation Center, providing diversified treatments for patients with non-pharmacological therapies for complex joint diseases such as osteoarthritis. Relying on the characteristics of the National Clinical Research Center for Infectious Diseases of the hospital, the department provides more comprehensive and scientific diagnosis and treatment for infection-related and rheumatism-related diseases.
