The Radiology Department serves as a supporting platform for clinical disciplines and departments in hospital, with a focus on Hepatology Department, Infectious Diseases Department, and Tuberculosis Department.
The Radiology Department employs 28 doctors, including 8 consultants and associate consultants; 38 radiographers; and 16 nurses. There are two M.D. in Radiology Department, and 93% of the doctors have a graduate degree.
There are 4 advanced MRI scanners (includging two 3.0T), 8 CT scanners (includging two 256 slices CT), and 10 DR in the Radiology Department.
2.Clinical Services
X-ray examination: including DR, mammography, gastrointestinal imaging, suitable for screening pneumonia, fractures, and digestive tract diseases, etc.
CT examination: routine scans and enhanced scans of all parts of the body (such as the head, chest, abdomen, and spine, etc.); Specialized services: low-dose lung cancer screening, coronary CTA, emergency trauma one-stop examination, 3D reconstruction technology, etc.
MRI examination: assessment of neurological disorders (stroke, tumors, spinal cord lesions), joint and soft tissue injuries, liver diseases, and pelvic diseases; functional MRI: diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS).
3.Special Features & Advantages
The Radiology Department completes about 140,000 X-ray examinations, about 150,000 CT examinations, and about 35,000 MRI examinations annually, covering diseases such as liver cirrhosis, portal hypertension, liver transplantation imaging examinations , fatty liver, liver tumors, and etc.
The Radiology Department has achieved remarkable results in the imaging diagnosis and functional research of liver diseases, and possesses extensive experience in the diagnosis of AIDS, tuberculosis, liver diseases, CNS diseases, liver fibrosis/cirrhosis, various liver diseases, pulmonary infectious diseases, diseases related to liver and kidney transplantation, and pulmonary nodules, and etc.
4.Education & Research
The Radiology Department has won the Science and Technology Progress Award from Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City respectively, and obtained one research project from the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Committee. The Radiology Department published more than 20 SCI papers, and participated in the compilation of multiple Chinese and English books.
The Radiology Department possesses a patent for pneumonia imaging diagnosis. The Radiology Department is one of the founding units of the China Association of Radiology and Imaging in Venereal Diseases and AIDS, and has collaborations with radiology departments of many infectious disease hospitals in China.
The Radiology Department serves as a secondary base for resident physician standardized training in hospital, with one master's supervisor and over 70 resident physicians rotating through each year.
The Radiology Department holds a medical continuing education program every year; several doctors give professional lectures at academic conferences.
